Orrin W. Crossman, Sgt., enrolled in Company H, 28th Michigan regiment of volunteers on 3 September 1864 at Benton [Harbor], Michigan. He was mustered in at Kalamazoo, Michigan on 13 September 1864. He died of typhoid fever on 16 February 1865 at Alexandria, Virginia. Buried in the Alexandria National Cemetery, Section B, site 2852, Alexandria, Virginia.
